March 1st, 1911 was declared “California Invitation Day” in which (I guessing by the text on this card) the boosters for Los Angeles tempted people from around the US to come to California by taking advantage of “special low rates” on the Southern Pacific railway. Considering the current population of Los Angeles County is more than 10 million people, I feel confident in concluding that California Invitation Day was a success.
