Front entrance of Mocambo nightclub on Sunset Blvd, circa 1941The popular Mocambo nightclub on the Sunset Strip opened in January 1941, however those flags out front were added to the facade immediately after the Normandy invasion in 1944. A friend of mine who is a curator at the Petersen Automotive Museum tells me that the car on the left is a 1939 Plymouth and the shiny black one on the right is a 1941 Buick.
