Before Paramount became Paramount, it was the Famous Players Lasky Corporation. Like most studios, they were originally based in New York, but moved to the West Coast because of the (much!) better weather. This shot shows how impressive their west coast building was. This façade is very ornate and shows they meant to stay. Which they have, and are now the only major studio still in Hollywood.
