The recent announcement of a discovery of a treasure trove of Alla Nazimova’s belongings brought out a number of interesting Nazimova-related people, including
• the costume designer for the Springer Opera House where a number Nazimova artifacts are archived
• a rocker chick who wrote a song about her
• distant relatives of Nazimova
• a documentarian who is making a film about the influence of gay and lesbians during Hollywood’s golden era
And then there’s the guy in Florida who has a huge archive of material gathered in the 1930s by relatives of his who were freelance journalists and who ran a P.R. company in Hollywood during that time. He’s now looking for a home for the collection and sent me some photos which I thought I’d share here.
