One of the most iconic and recognizable buildings in Los Angeles is our city hall. I like to think that it’s not just because it played the role of “Daily Planet Building” on TV’s “Superman” (even though it probably is) but also because it’s as striking a building now as it was when it was built. (Fun Fact: The concrete in its tower was made with sand from each of California’s 58 counties and water from its 21 historical missions.) This photo was taken at its dedication on April 26, 1928.
