This shot is from the 1920s. We’re looking north up Gower Street towards the Sunset Blvd intersection. The large buildings on the right are the sound stages of Columbia Studios (now Sunset Gower Studios.) In the distance you can see the steeple of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, and way off in the distance we can see the Hollywoodland sign. But you better watch out if you’re driving along Gower—it doesn’t seem very well paved yet.
