Driving along Wilshire Blvd through Westlake Park (MacArthur Park), Los Angeles, circa 1920sIn 1942, Los Angeles changed the name of Westlake Park on the edge of downtown to MacArthur Park in honor of WWII war hero, General Douglas MacArthur. From the look of the motorcar in this photo, I’d say this was taken in the 1920s, but whenever it was, it was probably the very last time an LA driver complained of the traffic conditions.
