I love it when color photos allow us a glimpse into a long-gone time and place that usually only exists for us in black-and-white. Dave DeCaro recently posted this gem on his website: it’s a 1950s view of Sunset Boulevard looking west from about Seward Street. Across the road we can see the front tower of the Crossroads of the World shopping mall. Apart from the Hollywood hills in the background, it’s probably the only thing in this photo that’s still there.
Even in the 1950s, cars from years past were still being maintained and driven. I’d like one!
