We’ve all seen tons of photos of the original hat-shaped Brown Derby restaurant on Wilshire Blvd opposite the Ambassador Hotel, but this is a new one on me: a shot of the Brown Derby being constructed. Actually, this was the second location were people could “Eat In The Hat.” This original one opened in 1926 at 3427 Wilshire. Then it had to be moved to make way for the Chapman Park Hotel, so they rebuilt it half a block east to 3377 Wilshire on corner of Alexandria Ave.
