Corner Seventh and Broadway, downtown Los Angeles, circa 1920Somebody needs to put in some traffic lights! This is the corner of 7th Street and Broadway, downtown Los Angeles, circa 1920. According to one account I read, this intersection was the busiest in the world with 504,000 people crossing those streets each day. That number seems a little excessive, but after seeing this photo makes me wonder if that statistic might be true.

**UPDATE** – As Andie Paysinger just commented: “Since the total population of L.A. in 1920 was 577K, I believe someone added a zero to the total.”
