Somebody needs to put in some traffic lights! This is the corner of 7th Street and Broadway, downtown Los Angeles, circa 1920. According to one account I read, this intersection was the busiest in the world with 504,000 people crossing those streets each day. That number seems a little excessive, but after seeing this photo makes me wonder if that statistic might be true.
**UPDATE** – As Andie Paysinger just commented: “Since the total population of L.A. in 1920 was 577K, I believe someone added a zero to the total.”
