    Although I associate noir with the ’40s, this shot from the 1930s surely defines that genre to a “t.”

    Here’s an LA Times article from 1991 that doesn’t pull any punches why 18 stores were closing doors with quotes such as “…merchandising to a nonexistent customer base for 20 years.” Ouch!
