    You can just barely see the character formed in neon tubes on the streetside signage. Maybe they got a lot of business from the studios during the days of the radio star, before either TV or video killed him. There should be one of the drive-in restaurants just beyond the back building. It was that nasty bank skyscraper that took out the structures on this corner. I believe it was known for swaying quite a bit during earthquakes.

    Just thought I’d add, in the original books of matches they had blue tips. Not sure if that was to imply the color of one’s nose in coming away with their hangover.

    Aha…the drive-in was the new Harry Carpenter’s built to replace the old location where NBC radio studios went up. It later becames a Stan’s. We can see a car turning into the lot well beyond The Hangover signage. [If the photos aren’t already here on Martin’ site, Water & Power has them up.]
