Radium Sulphur Springs and hot baths, 5633 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles (1910s/1920s)

radium sulphur springs melrose and gower 1I always think of the corner of Melrose Ave and Gower St as being dominated by RKO’s globe of the world stood. But apparently on the (I’m assuming) western side was the Radium Sulphur Springs and hot baths. If you’ve ever smelled a sulphur springs you’ll know it ain’t pretty so now I’m thinking those folks over at RKO put up with quite a stink. Actually, this place was around in the 1910s and 1920s when the studio was called FBO (formally Pathé) and run by Joseph Kennedy.
