Hollywood’s oldest surviving studio designed specifically for television broadcasting, at 1313 Vine St The woman in the purple-and-white check is strolling past 1313 Vine Street — Hollywood’s oldest surviving studio designed specifically for television broadcasting. The building opened on August 18, 1948 as the headquarters of the Mutual-Don Lee broadcast empire. It has been well preserved and is currently owned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and known as the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study.
