In my interview with Louella Parsons’ niece, she talked about the time Louella organized for her to see Gone with the Wind in a projection room of the Thalberg Building at MGM. This is a shot of that building in 1942, which is around the time Louella Rehfield would have there. It’s where Louis B. Mayer and the MGM executives had their offices. The building is still there, but it now part of the Sony/Columbia studios. I have a Facebook photo album of photos I took when I was at the studio in September 2014: http://on.fb.me/1TaWZ8M
Hi. I worked on the 2nd floor of the Thalberg building for about two years in the early 80s, for the president of MGM/UA Television Productions, Richard Reisbergl. Windows looked out directly onto the parking lot from the center of the building. Huge assistant office, bathroom with shower and phone. Then a large conference room, often used for casting. Back up to the assistant office, into the boss’s office. Very very large and impressive. Exciting for such a big movie fan.
Thanks Martin! This is just as I remember. Love always.
Ah, I thought it might be as you remembered, Louella!

Lucky you, Laurel!
