I’m going to think of this picture next time I grumble about having to get my car smog-checked. This was looking across downtown L.A. toward City Hall shows us how dire the smog problem was by 1958. It makes me wonder what the view was like from the top of City Hall. There probably wasn’t much of a view—except for the layer of smog covering everything.
I remember the smog and am so happy the politicians, etc. did something about it.
