I’ve posted a lot of photos of the Hollywood and Vine corner, but I’ve never come across a view of LA’s most famous intersection from such a dramatic angle. This was taken atop the 12-story Taft Building, which was the city of Hollywood’s first skyscraper. (At various times it’s held the offices of Charlie Chaplin and Will Rogers, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (1935 to 1945). In this photo, we can see the Melody Lane diner, which was there from 1940 to 1955.
