MacArthur Park (Westlake Park), looking west from Wilshire & Alvarado, circa 1930s.jpgThis spectacular view is MacArthur Park looking west from the Wilshire Blvd and Alvarado St intersection, circa 1930s. Back then it was called Westlake Park and wouldn’t be renamed until General Douglas MacArthur became a war hero during WWII. From the looks of the cars parked along the left hand side, it seems like you could even park on Wilshire. Try doing that now!
