We often see photos of Schwab’s Pharmacy on Sunset Boulevard, but we don’t often see a wider shot of the gorgeous building it was a part of. It was called the Sunset Medical Building (although it was more widely known as the “Crescent Heights Shopping Center”) which opened its doors in 1931. In 1932, the Schwab brothers (Bernard, Leon, Jack and Martin) took over a drugstore that wasn’t doing very well, and turned it into the most famous drugstore in America. Eventually, they’d end up owning six of them.
