Lawry’s Prime Rib chophouse has been on La Cienega Blvd in Beverly Hills since 1938—that’s quite an achievement by LA’s standards. I don’t know when this photo was taken, but judging by that large car parked out front, I’d say probably not long after the restaurant opened. I especially love the light in this photo—those three lamps lighting the parking lot, the way “THE PRIME RIB” is back-lit, and how it throws the car into an almost film noir shadow.
