“The Lion’s Roar” was MGM’s in-house monthly magazine for employees to know what was going on at the studio. It was quite an impressively sophisticated publication. This one must have been from 1944 as it features Judy Garland in one of her biggest successes, “Meet Me in St. Louis.”
** UPDATE** (November 2020) – David G just sent me these photos. They’re of the UK version of “The Lion’s Roar.” I never knew they did their own one in the UK and it indicates that MGM must have had more staff there than I had always assumed.
Are you aware that MGM published an in house monthly magazine for its employees in the United Kingdom which was printed by Arthur’s Press of
Woodchester?
