In a city known for its wholesale neglect of the past, it’s nice to see that some of its timeless architecture survives intact. This photo of the front of the Beverly Hills Hotel was probably taken around 1952. Both the Chevrolet on the left and the Oldsmobile on the right are both from around that year, but if you took those cars out of the picture, you’d scarcely know when the photo was taken.
