Early ad for the Garden of Alla Hotel (no "h)The advertisement for the Garden of Alla Hotel (with no final h on Alla) is likely from the late 1920s. The hotel opened January 9th, 1927 and for the first 2 or 3 years operated as the Garden of Alla until ownership of the property reverted to real estate developer, William H. Hay. He continued to operate it as the Garden of Alla for a few years, but had sold it by 1930 (despite the stock market crash in October 1929) to a hotel corporation who officially added the final “h” making it the Garden of Allah Hotel from that point on, until it closed in August 1959.
