It’s photos like this that make me miss going to the movies the old-fashioned way. Sure, the seats are more comfortable now, and the stadium seating ensures you get a better view of the screen, the sound is clearer. This is a shot of the Vern Theater at 2811 E Olympic Boulevard taken the year it opened, 1941. But these days, one multiplex is much like another, but back then, each theater had its own style and decorative flourishes.
