Guy changing the lights on the Hollywood Freeway, 1952

Guy changing the lights on the Hollywood Freeway 1952On the stretch of the Hollywood Freeway (the 101) heading into downtown, some guy has the unenviable job of changing the light bulbs on the street lamps. Mind you, with only 21 cars in sight (I counted them) I’d say his job was a lot easier then (1952) than it would be now.

Wow, look at that uncluttered skyline! I’m assuming that one tall building is City Hall, right, Martin? I’m hoping those are clouds and not smog!

Sure wouldn’t want this guy’s job. Check out the size of the warning flags behind his truck!

    Appreciate all your photos!

Isn’t that stretch heading away from downtown?
