The Cinegrill at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Blvd was still around when I moved to Los Angeles in the mid 1990s. It was an intimate cabaret where I got to see a number of wonderful talents up close. This atmospheric shot is from the 1940s – my head spins at the mere thought of the level of talent that played there during that time.
Oh man, I love the Cinegrill! I saw one of my favorite singers of all time there, sitting front row.; Maureen McGovern in the late 90’s.
OMG, you were there that night? Me too! What a voice she’s got. I was expecting a lot but she surpassed all expectations.
Enjoyed Michael Buble’s opening night of a one week run in 2003 there.
I wish I’d known he played there!
