This aerial shot of Beverly Hills High School was taken in March 1928, a year after it opened. With all that empty land, the students must have almost felt like they were going to an agricultural college. Note the oil derrick adjacent to the track field—it’s still there and last I heard was still pumping oil and the school was still earning money from it.
Thanks so much for posting this Martin. I graduated from BHHS in 1948 and it was a wonderful school – loved the oil well. Love, Lou.
