Here’s a combination of styles we don’t often see. This is the Fox Belmont Theater (built 1927), on 2nd Street in Long Beach whose architectural style is positioned as “Aztec-influenced Art Deco.” Not only that, but Fox put a lot of thought into how light it to its best advantage at night. The good news is that not only did the Fox Belmont survive the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, but the building is still there. It’s now the Belmont Athletic Club, but you still see its history.
That same building in 2016
