I couldn’t find much information about this photo of Hollywood shrouded in red-tinged mist, published by Life. That neon sign was for the Hollywood Savings building at the corner of Hollywood Blvd and Sycamore St. On the left, we can see the light of a church sign, which was listed on a 1930s map of Hollywood Blvd (http://bit.ly/2bwGU3p) as “Congregational Church” (now the “Association for Better Living & Education.”) I’m not sure what caused the red tinge but it sure makes for a memorable image.
