Tom Breneman’s restaurant, Vine St., Hollywood, circa 1940s

Tom Breneman's restaurant, Vine St., Hollywood, circa 1940sOh, how I do enjoy a great night neon shot! Tom Breneman’s was on Vine St, near Sunset Blvd. It became famous when Breneman started hosting his unscripted morning radio show “Breakfast in Hollywood” (1941 to 1948) in the former Tropics nightclub. I’ve seen plenty of photos of it but nothing quite so dripping with atmosphere.

Takes one back to an ole Bogie film noir. Love these atmospheric night shots. Glad somebody had the presence of mind to take this quintessential Golden Age of Hollywood shot of Breneman’s!

    Thanks, Martin.
