La Brea Ave, north of Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, December 1932

La Brea Ave, north of Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, December 1932I’m so used to seeing La Brea Ave as a busy commercial strip that I was quite surprised to find it was once a quiet, rather suburban residential street. This part of La Brea is the stretch north of Sunset Blvd, so Charlie Chaplin’s studios (now Jim Henson) would have been on the block behind the photographer. (December 1932)

Not so quiet now, huh?

  1. Hi – Blue is now in kitty heaven, where he belongs and is free of pain. Love you always, Lou.

Louella, sending hugs to you. I lost my sweet Lucy 4 years ago. They live on in our hearts.

Martin, here’s a shot of the Chaplin studios in 1923. Sure wish it still looked like this.
