Here we have a rare shot of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre being built. It broke ground on January 9, 1926, so this shot was probably taken in summer of 1926. We can see the Garden Court apartments to the west of it (below), and the Hollywood Hotel to the (east.) But look how packed with trees the area is. And they all seem to full and lush and green. Oh yeah, that’s right, it’s back when we used to get rain…
