MGM Studios a year after the merger, 1925

MGM Studios a year after the merger, 1925This shot gives us an idea of what MGM Studios looked like in 1925, a year after the merger and two years before sound arrived to shake things up. It’s a bit plain and utilitarian, isn’t it? But it shows that all the glamor went up on the screen. I wonder how much longer than lawn stayed as open space before it got turned into something more useful. And that driveway in the middle background – I wonder if that’s the eastern gate.
