The forecourt of the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard changed over the years. When it first opened in 1922, it was open air, with Egyptian artifacts lining the path to the theater. However, by 1932 when “Back Street” starring Irene Dunne was playing, they’d added a covered walkway like we often see in shots of Grauman’s Chinese as well as a now-playing marquee across the front. These days, it’s fairly minimalist—but it’s still there.
