Lighting post on Wilshire Blvd at Windsor Blvd, Los Angeles, 1914The way I look at it, surviving LA traffic is the price we pay for enjoying LA weather, and when I see what the northern half of the country deals with during their long, freezing winters, I’m happy to pay the price. But once—just once!—I’d love to be able to drive along a Wilshire Blvd that looked like this. Wide open spaces, empty fields, admire the pretty 3-lamp electroliers, and park wherever the heck I wanted. This is Wilshire Blvd at Windsor Blvd in 1914—what a difference!
