Aerial view of construction of the San Diego Freeway (405) is underway between Wilshire Blvd and Venice Blvd, Culver City 1957In this 1957 aerial view, we’re looking north toward Sepulveda Pass where construction of the San Diego Freeway (the 405) is underway. The strip of land down the center of the photo is the next section scheduled for construction between Wilshire Blvd to Venice Blvd in Culver City. The 405 is one of LA’s main arteries and getting to LAX would take forever without it, but seeing it like this, what a nice strip of urban greenspace it could have been!
