The cast was a Who’s Who of MGM’s roster including Jack Benny, John Gilbert, Joan Crawford, Norma Shearer, Laurel and Hardy, Marion Davies, William Haines, and Lionel Barrymore. I’d assume the cast appeared at this premiere, which explains the massive crowds lining the Hollywood Boulevard.
