You know what they say – if you want to attract attention, get a couple of pretty girls to wave their paintbrushes at the camera. Or at least, apparently that’s what they say in Culver City where they had just experienced at 1011% growth in 1930 when this photo was taken. I’m assuming (but could be wrong) that much of this growth was connected to MGM studios on Washington Blvd, who were really starting to hit their stride by the late 20s/early 30s.
