The Academy Museum in the old May Company department store at Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue won’t open until 2019, so we still have quite a wait to see what they’ve come up with. But I’m very glad they haven’t tried to monkey with the iconic facade. Here’s how that building looked in 1941 when the May Company was one of the most popular department stores in Los Angeles.
