Pictured here in front of Schwab’s Pharmacy on Sunset Blvd is Sidney Skolsky who was a gossip columnist who wrote for several New York newspapers and had a column in Photoplay magazine called “From A Stool At Schwab’s” because that’s where he wrote his articles. Imagine using Schwab’s as an office! With that hubbub and bustle, I don’t know how the got a thing done. Skolsky is now probably best remembered for his close friendship and undying support of Marilyn Monroe. Skolsky is thumbing for a ride because he didn’t drive and Marilyn often used to drive him around LA. Take a moment and picture THAT!
