This photo of “Island in the Sun” at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre was taken during the summer of 1957. (The movie’s interracial screen kiss between Joan Fontaine and Harry Belafonte caused quite a hullabaloo at the time.) If you look closely on the east side of the building, you’ll see a guy at work putting up a billboard for the next movie to be shown there: “An Affair to Remember,” which we all probably remember starred Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr.
