This photo of the Carthay Circle Theatre was taken on December 21, 1937 at the world premiere of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (aka “Disney’s Folly” because everyone thought Walt was mad for making a feature-length cartoon.) In the daylight, this theater was striking, but all lit up at night like this, it was really striking. And get a load of that spotlight on the arrivals – it must have been blindingly bright for all those glamorpusses getting out of their limos.
