In this circa 1950 photo, we’re looking north toward the Hollywood and Vine corner, with Vine St Brown Derby on the right. Like everywhere else in LA I suppose, the Hollywood and Vine corner always seems so jam-packed these days that photos like these make me long for the old days—which is odd because I was never around for them.
That same view in 2017 offers a lot less blue California sky:
