In this photo from 1959, we’re looking north up Hill Street from 7th street in downtown Los Angeles toward Pershing Square. The vertical “SANTA FE” sign is for the Santa Fe Southern Railway and that white building in the distance is the Title Guarantee Building, which is now a loft apartment building. And get a load of those gold banners! It’d be hard to walk past and not know that Bullock’s were holding their August Clearance!
