Farmer's Market, 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, circa 1952These days, when you see a collection of cars that look like this parked together, it’s a vintage automobile enthusiasts meet, but back in (circa) 1952 when this photo was taken, it was just a regular shopping day at the Farmer’s Market, on the corner of 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue.

Hi – Re The Farmer’s Market: I spent so many happy hours there. Skating at Pan Pacific, watching baseball at Gilmore Field and football at Gilmore Stadium – and always at the Farmer’s market before or after. Also, the house we had was on Irving Blvd (310) which was near The Market (1957-1963) Great memories. Love to you and Bob from L&M

Back in the 50’s my mother used to meet her best friend every week for lunch at the Farmer’s Market. My dad would take us to Dupar’s for breakfast quite often. Their pancakes are still the best. When I go back to L.A. to visit it’s among one of the first places I go back to.
