I do love coming across nightscape photos of Los Angeles, especially from up above where we can get a bird’s-eye view of a city that looks pretty at night, but whose shadows hide a labyrinth of secrets. This view is looking southwest atop from the City Hall tower toward The Los Angeles Times building, circa 1954. I love how everything seems to glow in this photo—especially that electric sign THE TIMES. Ironically, I was standing at that same spot at City Hall earlier this month and took a photo from pretty much the same spot.
