Looking across 5th and Flower Streets toward the Central Library, downtown Los Angeles, 1926This photo from 1926 shows how much downtown Los Angeles has changed. We’re looking across the corner of 5th and Flowers Streets towards the newly opened Central Library. The striking building with the pyramid-topped tower is still there but everything else around it is gone, except for the Biltmore Hotel behind it. In fact, downtown L.A. looks quite dilapidated but of course now the library is surrounded by skyscrapers. Where the photographer is standing will later become the Bonaventure Hotel.
