Wouldn’t it be nice if we could still shop like this? This photo is dated circa 1937 but that’s a 1934 Pontiac parked outside the glorious Bullocks Wilshire department store on Wilshire Blvd. (Check out that Art Deco detailing in the façade above them.) When you pulled up at the store, the valet gave you a card that told the sales clerks where your car was parked. Instead of lugging around all those heavy packages, they’d put them directly in your trunk. Now, THAT is what I call shopping.
