In this photo, we see the public gather at the corner of Sixth and Spring Streets in downtown Los Angeles in 1929 to watch Paramount film “The Mighty.” What I like most are the two stores in the background. One of them – a cigar store called United Cigars – we hardly see anymore, and the other – The Typewriter Shop – we haven’t seen in years. I guess its equivalent today would be an Apple Store.
