Moviegoers to the Belmont Theatre on East Second Street in Long Beach in 1961 were treated to a pretty good double feature: “The Misfits” (the last completed film for both Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe) and a Gina Lollobrigida movie called “Go Naked in the World.” I want to draw your eye to the terrazzo work on the sidewalk outside the front of the box office. That’s how theaters would catch the attention of passers-by who might be looking down and miss the “Coming Attractions” or “Now Playing” posters.
